As a long-time Austin resident, Aisha has cultivated deep and lasting relationships with Austin's youth, community leaders, local business owners, and school administrators. Her visionary leadership shines through in her guidance of a dedicated team of young individuals working to create safe, intergenerational community spaces.
Aisha’s pioneering work includes co-creating the youth-led Austin Safety Action Plan (ASAP), a nationally recognized diversion strategy that has set a benchmark for communities across the country. This groundbreaking initiative has reduced violence by 50 percent within their designated safe zone over the past three years. Honored by her community as a "Neighborhood Hero," Aisha's impact on Austin’s youth is a testament to her extraordinary commitment and influence.
Known for her keen business acumen, Aisha is a dynamic force in youth and community engagement, specializing in diversion and violence prevention, a role that has garnered recognition from The Obama Foundation. As the founder and strategy lead of Root2fruit Youth Foundation, she designs and implements initiatives specifically tailored to meet the needs of Austin's youth.
In her role as a Community Engagement Specialist with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital, Aisha serves as an essential advocate and liaison between the hospital and Austin residents, ensuring rapid responses to community health concerns. After three years in this role, she brought to life the Austin HOPE Center, an $18 million development in partnership with Stone Community Development Corporation and Lurie Children’s Hospital. This transformative project reflects her dedication to building lasting resources and opportunities for her community.
